Friday, December 5th, 7:30pm César tells his story in prison from behind a mask to a psychiatrist. He is a rich orphan and a very handsome and a renowned womanizer. His best friend, Pelayo comes to one of César's parties with a beautiful woman named Sofía. Although she was supposed to be Pelayo's girlfriend, César spends that night at her home. But Nuria, with whom César had his last affair, is very jealous; she picks him up the next morning and crashes her car with both of them inside. César survives the crash, but his face is hideously disfigured. Doctors say they can’t help him. The morning after an awkward night with Pelayo and Sofía, his luck changes completely: Sofía tells him he is the one she really loves, and the doctors tell him that, with a revolutionary new technique, they can rebuild his face. The unexpected disappearance of her troubled brother causes a nineteen year-old girl intense emotional distress as French filmmaker Philippe Lioret collaborates with author Oliver Adam to adapt Adam's popular novel for the screen. Upon returning from Barcelona after spending the summer with new friends Lea (Alissa Maiga) and Thomas (Julien Boisselier), Lily (Melanie Lauret) discoves that her twin brother Loic (Mickael Trodoux) has fled the family home following a particularly intense confrontation with family patriarch Paul (Kad Merad). When Loic fails to return Lily's increasingly desperate calls and her parents continual failure to explain the reasoning behind her brother's flight, the troubled girl lapses into an alarming emotional malaise. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide.
