Since SLA is accredited by the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools, recipients will have the option of taking classes for credit, either to supplement their regular high school language courses or replace them should their high school not offer the language or languages they wish to study. Seattle Language Academy’s four-quarter first-year curriculum (101-104) is identical in content to the University of Washington’s three-quarter format (101-103), or 15 credits of study. One 30-hour course at Seattle Language Academy is therefore equivalent to 3.75 college credits, and the full first year (four 30-hour courses) to 15 college credits. ApplicationIf you are a high school student and would like to apply for the SLA Merit Scholarship, download and complete a SLA Merit Scholarship Application Form and submit by Friday, August 10th, 2009: By Email - scholarship@sealang.org.
